The 2019 High Country Stampede Royalty Try-outs will be held after the Jackpot on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at The John Work Arena in Fraser, Colorado.  See Rodeo – Schedule of Events for more information on The High Country Stampede Jackpot Series.

High Country Stampede Rodeo Queen & Princess Pageant Requirements:

  • All girls ages 18 and under are invited to tryout.
  • Must provide own horse.
  • Full western dress is required.
  • Tryouts will include a short interview and riding/horsemanship demonstration.
  • Responsibilities include riding in the Grand Entry at the High Country Stampede Rodeos, presenting sponsors flags (if able), assisting with the Mutton Bustin’, presenting buckles at Awards Night, and representing the HCSR at local parades.
  • No pre-registration is required, just show up!
  • Rodeo Queen – Open to girls 14 – 18 years old.
    • Must be able to carry a flag at a lope.
  • Rodeo Princess(es) – Open to girls 13 and under.  Limited to two princesses.
    • Must be able to ride around the arena at a trot, unassisted.

The 2018 High Country Stampede Rodeo Queen is

Maddie Oxley 

Maddie is 14 years old and will be attending Middle Park High School this fall as an 9th grader.  Maddie is in the Trail Mountain Mustangs 4-H group, with her horse Patches.  She enjoys horseback riding, fishing, mountain biking, hiking, and many other activities.
