We hope you will join us for a very exciting 2021 rodeo season at the High Country Stampede Rodeo!  We are again looking forward to many special events including The Twisted Trick Riders, Bennie Bob Patrick, Family Fun Night, Cancer Awareness Night, Sponsor Appreciation Night including a Country Western Dance – live music featuring TBD, Old West Night, First Responder Night, and Military Recognition Night.

The High Country Stampede Rodeo series will be celebrating our 38th season.  We are already gearing up to put on another incredible season of events.

Our Motto here at the rodeo is “The High Country Stampede Rodeo, where everyone has fun!”  Attendance continues to grow each year.  We have locals, folks from the front range, out of state visitors, foreign visitors, first time rodeo fans, and some fun family reunions, all who came out to cheer on Mutton Busters, Sheep Scramblers, and many great contestants. With beautiful Colorado sunsets and warm summer nights, we hosted over 6000 guests.

As a “Thank you” for a great rodeo series, we will again be awarding a $200 Buckle Bonus to each open rodeo series event buckle winner in 2021.

The Bounty Bull returns – $500

Bounty Bareback and Bounty Saddle Bronc continue and new this year -The Bounty Ranch Bronc – $500 each

  • Bounty money will now be carried forward to the next rodeo  The Bounty animal must be ridden (or attempted) and not pay out.

Contestant Camping available with permission.

Over $6000 in series awards and prizes will be awarded.

The Junior Rodeo and the Open Rodeo are two separate rodeos.  Junior contestants may enter the same events in both the Junior and the Open Rodeo.  Please see the “Arena and Ground Rules” page under Event Descriptions for more information.

RANCH BRONC RIDING is coming to The High Country Stampede Rodeo!

Ranch Bronc Riding has been added as an event in the open rodeo.  Entry fee is $80.00.  To enter, call 970-449-9040 or email entries@HighCountryStampede.com.

Rule Change for the Ladies All-Around Award:

  • The Local Barrel Racing event points are no longer included for the All-Around Award.

Rule Change for the Ladies and Mens All-Around Awards:

  • Men will gain points from Open Team Roping only, not from Mixed Team Roping.
  • Ladies will gain points from Mixed Team Roping only not from open Team Roping

The Winter Park Horseman’s Association Board of Directors would like to thank the community and our sponsors for their ongoing support in this great venture, the competitors for their participation and sportsmanship, our stock contractor, bull fighters, rodeo clowns, announcers, special acts, and we would especially like to thank all of the many volunteers for their time and commitment to making this rodeo season such a  great success!  We could not do it without all of the support we receive.


Please join us for the High Country Stampede Jackpot Series – Wednesdays, in 2021, at the John Work Arena in Fraser.  Exhibitions begin at 6:00pm.  Jackpot begins at 7:00pm.  Barrel Racing and Pole Bending.  There will be an open 5D, 8 and under, 9 – 13, 14 – 18, and open poles.  Many great prizes!  Potluck and awards on TBD, 2021.

I would like to invite anyone interested to become a member of The Winter Park Horseman’s Association and join us in this fabulous production.  All it takes if $5.00 a year to be a Member in Good Standing and have voting rights and help to make decisions.  Our working members also have access to use the arena, as well as receiving discounts on various products and services.  Please call 970-449-9040 for more information on becoming a member of WPHA.  Contestants do not need to be a member of the association to participate in the rodeos.
